Due to the pandemic I was apprehensive in going to see my GP to make an appointment for shoulder pain I had been experiencing. Whilst talking to a friend who who also had been suffering from shoulder pain I was given Mr Gupta's details. I contacted Mr Gupta's secretary and was pleased that Mr Gupta was able to see me at Prime Health for a consultation on my shoulder within a couple of days. My fears (Covid) were eased when I arrived at Prime Health and saw how careful and meticulous the place was with regards to ensuring everyone was wearing masks and sanitising hands before entering the area. Having assessed me Mr Gupta said that his initial thoughts were that I had damaged my Rotator Cuff however I would need to have an MRI scan to get an accurate picture of exactly what was damaged. A couple of days later I had had the MRI scan done and followed this up with a further appointment to see Mr Gupta who informed me that I would need surgery to repair my shoulder as I had ripped a bicep and two tendons in my shoulder. At all times Mr Gupta was understanding and helpful in explaining what the procedure would involve and how long it would take for recovery. I had my operation on the 24th September at the BMI in Runnymede. I was told that my operation would be in the afternoon and my wife dropped me off. Prior to the operation Mr Gupta came to see me in the room and explained the process of what will happen and about any potential risks which were very rare. I remember speaking to the anesthetist who also explained the same risks but also ensured that the risks were very very low. After the Surgery Mr Gupta came to see me in my room and explained that everything went really well and that he had called my wife to assure her that all was well. I was really touched by this as I knew my wife would have been worried and for him personally to call was very nice. After the Operation MR Gupta has arranged for me to see a Physiotherapist and I have had six sessions so far and am making excellent progress. I last had an appointment to see Mr Gupta a couple of days ago and he has advised that I am doing well and that I will next need to see him in three months. I had the following procedure done: Right Shoulder Arthroscopy Acromioplasty plus Coracoplasty Rotator Cuff repair ( Supraspinatus & Subscapularis) Biceps Tenodesis Overall I am extremely pleased having had Mr Gupta operate on my shoulder and am grateful to him for doing an excellent job.

Gives great confidence and guidance. Very punctual for appointments. I have never been kept waiting. I found it very reassuring to speak with Mr Gupta just before the operation and again later when recovering. Also another visit early the following morning to confirm all the procedures during the operation and what to expect in the following days ahead. All the team were excellent and very professional at all times. Operation: Right shoulder arthroscopy + anterior/posterior capsulo-labral repairs + supra-pectoral biceps tenodesis + extended superior capsular reconstruction Regular post op appointments I had a nerve block to the right shoulder which helped so much in the following 48 hrs after the operation. A more in depth of perimeters for physio treatment would be helpful in the early weeks of recovery.

Had Mr Gupta for a left shoulder decompression procedure 5 years ago and he was excellent with a great outcome. 2 weeks ago I had a right shoulder decompression and capsular release which so far, appears to have been successful with very little pain and good movement. I would highly recommend Mr Gupta and would not hesitate to use his services again.

I saw Mr Gupta 7 weeks after a heavy fall on my right arm. I had pain, swelling, numbness and stiffness in wrist, hand and fingers. He recommended an MRI. It showed a misdiagnosed radius fracture. He explained the MRI results clearly. The fracture was healing well but the fall had aggravated existing osteoarthritis in the joints and carpel tunnel problems. He suggested USG steroid injections which I was very happy with. He explained that I needed to start work on my stiff fingers, which barely moved, and showed me some basic exercises. He was reassuring that exercise would not cause additional damage and were essential to regain movement in my fingers. The injections were very successful, the carpel tunnel symptoms disappeared in a few days and the pain receded steadily. As I exercised more my fingers and wrist became increasingly flexible. Mr Gupta referred me for specialist physiotherapy with Chris Lytle, which has been excellent. I am now fully functional and just need to improve the strength in my wrist. Throughout my consultations everything has been explained clearly and my questions answered. At the first consultation Mr Gupta used the expression ‘working with nature as far as possible’. This matched with my attitude to health and was very reassuring. I found him very user friendly. Before he discharged me he ensured that I understood what symptoms to look out for in the future and the treatments that are available. I’m delighted with the care I’ve received.

Dr. Gupta took the time to explain the options I had in detail and helped me to make the right decision. It was a complex operation with bone graft and a complete shoulder replacement. It is now 10 months after my shoulder replacement and I am back doing the things I love, like playing golf and swimming laps for the first time in 10 years.
